Skyless formed in 2003 from Edinburgh groups - The Gallery, Omerta, Starless and others .The group 5 piece consisting of Mark Elliot (Drums), Greig Elliot (Rhythm), Michael Scanlin (Bass), Neil Humphrey (Lead) & Ian Burns (Vox), Skyless are also joined at gigs by Violinist Poppy Ackroyd.
Playing at venues in Edinburgh and Glasgow & the Cental belt, including the Liquid Rooms, The Venue, the Mercat, Bannerman's, Backpackers, Barfly, 13th Note Café, Stereo, The Tron, The Three Tunns, The Exchange and The Starbar. We have built up a loyal fan base throughout our two-year lifetime.
The groups influences are wide - Led Zeppelin, Black Crowes, Rolling Stones, King Crimson etc etc as well as others in the fields of Soul, Jazz & Blues, these influences culminate in a Heavy Rock sound which is both innovative & retro.
We have completed our debut album, On The Verge at Redeye Studio in Edinburgh.Our album spans over 45 minutes and contains 12 self-penned songs - ranging from driving hard rock & acoustic blues to violin-led prog rockers and will be released on the Starbar Record Label.
